CALL FOR ARTISTS for FCA Juried Show: Connessione—Things in Common

Deadline for submission of entry form and fee is Friday, September 19

FCA seeks submissions in all media for a juried show, open to all area artists. With this juried show, Falls Church Arts is continuing its Da Vinci Passport programming, exploring Leonardo da Vinci’s principles of creative genius. Defined as “a recognition of and appreciation for the interconnectedness of all things and phenomena,” Connessionne is the inspiration for the show’s theme, Things in Common. The juror for the show is Lisa Semerad, a professional artist and teacher in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area since 1982.

  • Show Opening: Friday, October 3, 2008, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
  • Show Continues: Monday – Saturday, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, October 4 – 25
  • Location: Falls Church Arts Gallery, 111 Park Avenue, Falls Church, VA
  • Entry Fee: current FCA members, $15; nonmembers, $20

Exploration of the Figure - September

Wednesday evening drawing sessions - live model - open to all levels

Falls Church Arts will sponsor figure drawing sessions every Wednesday evening in September, from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. at the Falls Church Arts Gallery, 111 Park Avenue, in Falls Church. Live models will be provided at each session. Poses will progress from short gestures to 1/2 hour.
